In researching COPPER MAGIC, I read about Anishinaabe elder Josephine Mandamin, who has walked the perimeter of each of the Great Lakes (more than once!) in order to raise awareness of the compromised condition of the waters of the world. I briefly joined Josephine and her waterwalkers on their pilgrimage around Lake Ontario.
